We are a small and friendly practice in Rainworth, serving just over 3050 patients. We are CQC rated "GOOD" in ALL areas. Our CQC Inspection Report is now ready to view. CQC report. This year we have been rated 6th best in all of the GP surgeries in Nottinghamshire, the results coming from a nationwide survey completed by patients. Ratings were published recently in The Nottinghamshire Evening Post Newspaper. We were also voted 3rd best in the best and worst GP practices in Mansfield and Ashfield in 2016 with 91.5% of patients would recommend us to friends & family and 4th in 2017 with 91.9% of patients who would recommend us. We were runners up in the Local Medical Committee medium practice of the Year 2013 and the small practice of the year 2011. More recently we have won two awards in the inaugural Newark & Sherwood Clinical Commissioning Group Celebrating general practice Awards - the Kindness award and the Going the Extra Mile Award won by our Practice Manager Amanda Brown – voted for by patients and residents of Newark & Sherwood

NOTICE FROM NHS England
A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one, but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.
Surgery update – 5 May 2021
As of today, Hill View Surgery has taken over the provision of services at Farnsfield Surgery.
We are pleased to be the new provider at Farnsfield Surgery and share a warm welcome to all of our new patients. We look forward to delivering high quality patient care and supporting you with any of your medical concerns.
Please bear with us over the next couple of weeks as we work through this transition period as the new provider. If you have symptoms you’re worried about or a health concern, please call Farnsfield Surgery on 01623 882289 to get the help you need. A member of our practice team will talk to you about your health concern to help decide what kind of appointment you need. Due to Covid-19, appointments are being held over the phone or online where possible to prioritise patient and staff safety. However, you will still be invited into the surgery for a face to face appointment if this is the best way to manage your medical problem.
If you are currently a patient at our Hill View Surgery branch in Rainworth, Mansfield, please do not worry – there is nothing for you to do. You can contact the surgery as normal on 01623 795562.
Patients at Hill View Surgery and Farnsfield Surgery will now be able to make appointments at either branch.

As you may be aware, Hill View Surgery will take over the provision of services at Farnsfield Surgery from 5th May, 2021.
We would like to reassure all of our patients that we will continue to deliver the high quality of care that you have previously received from the surgery. We have recruited clinicians and admin staff to support us and you as our practice grows.

Coronavirus latest update
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
New guidance from the government:
- If you have a cough or fever please self isolate for 7 days.
- If you live with anyone confirmed to have the coronavirus or showing symptoms you must self isolate for 14 days.
- You do not need to contact the GP surgery or 111 to self isolate.
- If you are poorly and do not get better please contact 111.
If you are a confirmed case or suspected of having the coronavirus DO NOT go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme has begun. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, the NHS will contact you. Please do not contact the NHS.
In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, a few different health and care organisations including hospitals, GP practices, care homes and others are working together on the Covid-19 vaccination programme. This means when it is your turn to be vaccinated, this may not be at your GP practice. You will be told where to go for your appointment and how to book.
In line with expert guidance, the first priority for vaccination is care homes residents and staff, people over the age of 80 and frontline health and care workers.
We understand a lot of people want to be vaccinated and would like to reassure you this will happen. Please be patient and wait to be contacted.

Insight talking therapies is a free and confidential service, commissioned by the NHS, and is available to anyone over the age of 18 and living in Nottinghamshire.

You can now download a free SystmOnline App for your iPhone, iPad or Android phone/tablet.
To register for SystmOnline you will need to come in surgery and ask at reception for your SystemOnline username and password. All you will need is one form of identification; this can be a driving licence a passport or any other form of photo identification. We will then give you your username and a temporary password that can be changed to something more memorable after you have logged on. To get onto the website, click on the "SystmOnline" logo above and you will be redirected to the SystemOnline website. On this website you can book and cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and change your personal details.

Patients Know Best
Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekend (Saturday and Sunday morning). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.
By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. When we are closed:
Outside normal surgery hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) emergency cover for the practice is provided by Primary Care (PC24) Out of Hours service. PC24 is an urgent care centre based next to the Kings Mill Hospital Emergency Department (ED) that provides medical care for patients that do not need Emergency Department Care. It is a nurse led service (Monday – Friday) and is supported by General Practitioners (GP’s) in the out of hours period (i.e. anytime that your normal GP practice is closed).
This service is for problems which cannot wait until the next available surgery. You will be required to provide full information about your problem and will be expected if required to attend PC24 if necessary. Advice may also be given if attending for a face to face appointment is not deemed to be required.
During out of hours you should contact the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it is not a life threatening situation.
Please be advised, we can no longer prescribe items for minor illness such as coughs, colds and hay fever. These items must now be purchased over the counter from your local pharmacy. research new treatments. In May 2018, the strict rules about
how this data can and cannot be used were strengthened.

In March, 20 patients Did Not Attend their appointments. In total this adds up to 290 minutes of wasted time. If you cannot attend an appointment please contact the surgery at your earliest convenience to cancel (if you cancel at short notice and we can not fill the appointment it will still be marked as a missed appointment). Please note that due to the growing number of people not attending their appointments we have had to implement a new system for this. If you miss three or more appointments in three months you will be added to our frequent DNA (did not attend) list. This will not affect your ability to see a GP. You will be able to book an appointment but this slot will be double booked to ensure the GP time is being used efficiently. This means you will be given your appointment time like normal but may not be seen at that time.

You can now have your prescriptions sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. This will eliminate you having to come into the surgery to collect your prescription and will reduce your waiting time. Although there are certain medications that cannot go electronically. Feel free to ask at reception for more information about these medications. To nominate your chosen pharmacy, ask in the pharmacy or here in the surgery.
