We are a small and friendly practice in Rainworth, serving just over 3050 patients. We are CQC rated "GOOD" in ALL areas. Our CQC Inspection Report is now ready to view. CQC report. This year we have been rated 6th best in all of the GP surgeries in Nottinghamshire, the results coming from a nationwide survey completed by patients. Ratings were published recently in The Nottinghamshire Evening Post Newspaper. We were also voted 3rd best in the best and worst GP practices in Mansfield and Ashfield in 2016 with 91.5% of patients would recommend us to friends & family and 4th in 2017 with 91.9% of patients who would recommend us. We were runners up in the Local Medical Committee medium practice of the Year 2013 and the small practice of the year 2011. More recently we have won two awards in the inaugural Newark & Sherwood Clinical Commissioning Group Celebrating general practice Awards - the Kindness award and the Going the Extra Mile Award won by our Practice Manager Amanda Brown – voted for by patients and residents of Newark & Sherwood
Please be advised, we can no longer prescribe items for minor illness such as coughs, colds and hay fever. These items must now be purchased over the counter from your local pharmacy. Please note you may be eligible for the pharmacyfirst scheme. Please visit your local pharmacy for more information.
NHS SMS messages have changed. You will no longer be sent text messages to confirm or remind you of appointments. To receive reminders you will need to download the MJog app.
The MJog app also allows you to cancel your appointment and send messages to us.
Unfortunately, if you do not have a smart phone you may not receive appointment reminders.

Your Data Matters to the NHS

In May 39 patients Did Not Attend their appointments. In total this adds up to 480 minutes of wasted time. If you cannot attend an appointment please contact the surgery at your earliest convenience to cancel (if you cancel at short notice and we can not fill the appointment it will still be marked as a missed appointment). Please note that due to the growing number of people not attending their appointments we have had to implement a new system for this. If you miss three or more appointments in three months you will be added to our frequent DNA (did not attend) list. This will not affect your ability to see a GP. You will be able to book an appointment but this slot will be double booked to ensure the GP time is being used efficiently. This means you will be given your appointment time like normal but may not be seen at that time.
Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekend (Saturday and Sunday morning). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.
By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. You can now download a free SystmOnline App for your iPhone, iPad or Android phone/tablet.
To register for SystmOnline you will need to come in surgery and ask at reception for your SystemOnline username and password. All you will need is one form of identification; this can be a driving licence a passport or any other form of photo identification. We will then give you your username and a temporary password that can be changed to something more memorable after you have logged on. To get onto the website, click on the "SystmOnline" logo above and you will be redirected to the SystemOnline website. On this website you can book and cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and change your personal details, like your phone number.
You can now have your prescriptions sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. This will eliminate you having to come into the surgery to collect your prescription and will reduce your waiting time. Although there are certain medications that cannot go electronically. Feel free to ask at reception for more information about these medications. To nominate your chosen pharmacy, ask in the pharmacy or here in the surgery.
SMS Text Messages Reminders
We now send out appointment reminders to our patients via text messages. If you have your mobile number recorded on your record we will now send you confirmation of your appointment booking and a reminder for your appointment the day before.
